Student Counselling · Covered by Most Student Health Plans

Counselling that fits around student life.

We work with university students in Kelowna and across BC. Our office is in the Landmark District, 15 minutes from UBCO, and most student health plans cover counselling with us.

We're open 7 days a week with morning and evening availability, so you don't have to skip a lecture or a shift to get here.

Sessions run 30, 50, or 75 minutes: in our office, over secure video, or as a walk and talk if sitting across from someone in an office feels like a lot.

What Students Bring to Sessions

Academic stress & burnout

Not being able to start the assignment you've had three weeks for. Working constantly and still feeling behind. Losing interest in a program you used to care about.

Anxiety

Presentation dread, exam spirals, the 2am replay of a conversation from Tuesday, a body that won't settle even when nothing is technically wrong.

Perfectionism & self‑expectation

Where a good grade feels like relief instead of pride, and anything less feels like evidence about you as a person.

Student athletes

Balancing sport, school, and everything else. Practical tools for pressure, performance, and stress. See our sports psychology work.

Questions Students Ask

Is counselling actually covered by my student plan?

Yes, although we still recommend reviewing your student care coverage to confirm the details of your plan.

Do I have to be a UBCO student?

Nope. We work with students all over BC. We're most familiar with UBCO student benefit plans, so if you're at another school, check your plan's coverage for counselling.

Can I do sessions over video?

Absolutely. We use the Jane App platform to ensure all video calls are safe and secure.

Can I switch counsellors if it's not a good fit?

Absolutely. Finding the right counsellor is one of the most important parts of therapy. If your counsellor isn't the right fit, we're happy to help you explore other options: another therapist on our team, or someone we trust in the community. No pressure, no judgment.

What should I expect in the first session?

Your first session is a chance to get to know each other and begin understanding what brings you to therapy. You don't need to have everything figured out before you come in, and you won't be expected to tell your entire story right away. We'll go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Wondering if it's a good fit?

We offer free 15-minute consultations to talk through our approach, the counselling process, and any questions you have.
